A Sparky Story

Me: Is the power off (standing at the breaker)
Lori: Yes

Me: Grabs the outlet only to get a good shock.
Lori: Oops - I was distracted and thought that it was off.

Me: Steely look
Lori: Sorry :-)

Outlet is now changed.

Minus blowing the breaker, a job well done. Who knew you had to break the metal tab on the new one? Don't know what I am talking about...don't change your own outlet least you blow your breaker.

Sure glad we have a brother-in-law who is an electrician

Home Update

The people who came to our home last night have requested a second showing tomorrow.

Thanks for the prayers..

Outliers?

28578324 Not only did I recently just pick up a new book to dig into, but I added a fresh word to my vocabulary - outlier. It is a scientific term to describe things or phenomena that lie outside normal experience.

Now if I was just able to scratch the word "awesome" from my everyday life I would be thrilled.

Any words that, when come out of your mouth, you cringe?

Prayer Moment

Home Lori and I have another home showing tomorrow and an open house on Sunday. We would love it if you could agree with us in prayer that our home sells this week.

Thanks so much.

Barring a Miracle

FISHER Barring a miracle, Mike Fisher is about to miss the 194th game of what will be the 675 he's been eligible to suit up for through the first 8 seasons of his NHL career. My rough math puts that at 28.7% of his career he has been injured. This latest injury has him missing the next two weeks.

Not only because I am a fan of the team or his, but this injury trend stopping is something I am specifically praying for in Mike's life. It would be challenging to say the least if I missed 30% of Sunday's due to sickness.

He isn't just another athlete, but a follower of Christ who is living his purpose, which includes playing hockey and someone who wants to make a difference in our community. As a pastor in the city, my heart is to pray and encourage people, whether that is someone working at a grocery store or with the Sens. Their health and success are important to me.

"Barring a miracle Mike Fisher is about to miss" as one reporter put it, good news is that I believe in miracles.

Not only for Mike, but for you and your purpose as well.

If you want to let me know how I can pray for you, I would love to do that on your behalf.

One Prayer

Header Its November...and I can't wait until June.

One Prayer 2009!

Quick Question

What would you say is the biggest catalyst for change in your life?

a. Comparison (you see something in another that you desire in your own life)
b. Condemnation (you feel guilty that you aren't enough or doing enough)
c. Conviction (faith that endures in hope that Christ is working in you)

In light of where I am going on Sunday, I would be fascinated with your responses. One word is all that is needed. If you would like to remain anonymous, email me privately.

History

OBAMA I love a process, they fascinate me. So...I picked up one of those headline t-shirts from CNN. I went with the classic Obama victory. Thought I might as well grab a fabric of history while I was at it.

Now...I wonder how people will respond if I wear my new shirt around these parts?

Swiping Standard?

Interac I am just wondering why companies that produce those machines that enable you to swipe your Interac card don't standardize a way to actually have customers swipe their cards? I can't tell you the number of times the worker has to say to me..."other way."

And the pictures on the machines, not very helpful either.

Is it just me?
