Barring a miracle,
Mike Fisher is about to miss the 194th game of what
will be the 675 he's been eligible to suit up for through the first 8
seasons of his NHL career. My rough math puts that at 28.7% of his career he has been injured. This latest injury has him missing the next two weeks.
Not only because I am a fan of the team or his, but this injury trend stopping is something I am specifically praying for in Mike's life. It would be challenging to say the least if I missed 30% of Sunday's due to sickness.
He isn't just another athlete, but a follower of Christ who is living his purpose, which includes playing hockey and someone who wants to make a difference in our community. As a pastor in the city, my heart is to pray and encourage people, whether that is someone working at a grocery store or with the Sens. Their health and success are important to me.
"Barring a miracle Mike Fisher is about to miss" as one reporter put it, good news is that I believe in miracles.
Not only for Mike, but for you and your purpose as well.
If you want to let me know how I can pray for you, I would love to do that on your behalf.
